Year-End Tax Advantage
Section 179: Deduct Up to 100% of Your Equipment This Tax Year
Buy or finance qualifying equipment and have it installed and in service by December 31 and your business may be able to deduct the full purchase price on this year's taxes — even if you finance it. We handle delivery, installation, and training locally, so the deadline is ours to hit, not yours to worry about.
Example for illustration only: a $30,000 machine at a 35% combined tax rate could mean roughly $10,500 in first-year tax savings. Your deduction depends on your business income, entity type, and equipment use — this is not tax advice. Please confirm eligibility with your tax advisor.
What You Mail
Donors still give by mail. Someone still has to stuff it.
December carries the largest share of the year's giving, and the appeal that drives it is a letter, a reply device and a return envelope in a #10, mailed to the whole house file in the same week. Then every gift of $250 or more needs a written acknowledgment, newsletters go out quarterly, and the gala needs a program, place cards and badges. The copier prints all of it. The folding, inserting, tabbing, cutting and stitching is where staff and volunteer hours go.
Appeal packages: letter, reply device and return envelope in a #10
Today: Volunteers around a table folding, inserting and sealing the house file the week before Thanksgiving, with donor names and ask amounts on every sheet.
With finishing: A folder/inserter folds the letter, adds the reply device and the return envelope from its insert feeder, and seals the #10 in one pass, 1,350 to 2,500 an hour. The address printer runs the house file onto the outer envelope.
Acknowledgment and tax-substantiation letters, year-end giving statements
Today: Printed on letterhead and hand-folded one at a time, late in December when the gifts pile up.
With finishing: A tabletop folder handles the letters at 7,400 an hour; year-end giving statements with amounts go out on a pressure sealer as sealed mailers, so donor data never sits open on a desk or at a vendor.
Newsletters and self-mailers
Today: Mailed in envelopes because nobody wants to tab them, or sent to a mail house for the tabbing alone.
With finishing: A tabber applies the two or three tabs USPS requires on a folded self-mailer at 12,000 an hour, and the piece mails without an envelope.
Save-the-dates, event postcards and reply cards
Today: Ordered from a printer in boxes, or cut from copier sheets with a rotary trimmer.
With finishing: Print 4-up on cover stock and cut on a card cutter with a postcard cassette at 144 a minute. A creaser-perforator adds the tear-off line on reply devices.
Gala programs, sponsor decks, annual reports
Today: The copier staples flat in the corner, or the job goes to a print shop with a two-week lead right when the sponsor list is still changing.
With finishing: A booklet maker staples on the spine and folds in one pass. Reprint the program the morning of the gala with the final sponsor page.
Place cards, table tents, name badges, donor certificates
Today: Hand-cut, hand-scored, hand-folded at the office the night before the event.
With finishing: Crease the stack so the tents and cards fold clean, cut them square, laminate the badges. Shaped pieces run on the digital die cutter at the foundation tier.
Marketing Mail needs at least 200 pieces per mailing, and acknowledgments, statements and personal letters must go First-Class regardless of volume, so the small and mid-size runs most nonprofits send are exactly the ones a mail house cannot make cheaper. The postage rules are yours and USPS's; we supply the equipment that meets them.

Why PressTech
Not a mail house. Not a volunteer night.
Out the week the letter is signed
Year-end appeals, GivingTuesday, gala invitations. With the mailroom in the development office there is no vendor queue between the executive director's signature and the mailbox, and no envelope-stuffing night.
Donor data stays in the building
Giving history, ask amounts and acknowledgment letters never leave for a vendor's floor. The pieces are finished by your staff, on your equipment, and the records are shredded in your office.
A local dealer you can call
PressTech is a fourth-generation family business in Miami with more than 30 years in print finishing. Same-day service across South Florida.
Nothing to bill you per piece
We do not charge per package, per tab or per month. Keep the copier and the donor database you have. We sell the mailroom, once, and service it for years. Financing keeps it out of the capital budget.
